The makers of a new laundry detergent claim its innovative sheet form means it takes up just a fraction of the shelf space of traditional powders.

The Dizolve Sheet range, which is being brought to the UK by Canadian supplier Dizolve Group, consists of 12, 24 and 36-packs of fully biodegradable sheets (rsp: £3.30, £6 and £8.35) that dissolve in hot and cold washes.

A 12-wash pack took up half the shelf space of the equivalent pack of standard washing powder, said the company.

The sheets, which were introduced in Canada in 2010 and France last year, had been an “astounding success” added MD Lawrence Boon, predicting UK first-year sales of between £4m and £5m.
