Juice supplier Don Simon has begun using

environmentally friendly sleeves on its bottles.

The Spanish company has replaced the PET sleeves on its one-litre bottles with LDPE sleeves that are 100% recyclable and have a carbon footprint of 4.6g CO2 equivalents compared with the 17.6g of the old sleeves.

The company - which earlier this year launched low-cost smoothies - has made further environmental savings by reducing the size of the lids.
