Food importer Donatantonio has extended its Italian Lupetta brand.
Rolling out now, the new products comprise higher-protein pastas - bronze die fusilli bucati, strozzapreti, tortiglioni and spaghetti (rsp: £2.29) - and a 50% Sicilian/50% Puglian extra virgin olive oil (rsp: £2.99).
Made with kronos wheat semolina, the pasta contained 14% protein compared with the average 12% for ordinary variants, the company said. The higher protein content meant the pasta would keep its shape better when cooking and helped to ensure a good texture, said Donatantonio CEO Simon Bell.
Launched in March, Lupetta is the first range of retail products developed by Donatantonio.
