Drygate has partnered with campaign Rize Up for a craft beer designed to encourage young people to vote.
Its new brew, called #RizeUpUK (4.8% abv), is an orange and mango flavour pale ale. Profits from the sales of the beer will be donated to Rize Up to support its nationwide push to get 18 to 24-year-olds registered to vote ahead of December’s election.
It is being sold directly through the brand’s website (rsp: £1.80/330ml).
Drygate is also giving free cans of the brew to anyone who takes their voter registration or polling card into its Glasgow bar and taproom from 9 to 13 December.
Eighteen to 24-year-olds were “statistically the least likely to vote” but “could radically affect the outcome of the upcoming election”, said Drygate.
It comes after Drygate – which is run as a joint venture between C&C Group and Williams Bros Brewing Co – was given a major makeover earlier this year, designed to give the brand a “unified” identity.
