Belgian chocolate brand Duc d'O has broken ties with distributor Ryne Quality Confectionery and set up its own UK operation after Ryne's parent John Lusty called in the receivers.
Duc d'O has secured new offices in Luton and a distribution facility, said the company's new general manager Peter Sheehan. The company has also formed an alliance with french truffle company Choc Mod, which was also represented by Ryne.
Lusty's joint administrative receiver, Ernst & Young's William Tacon, is fielding offers for Lusty's two remaining divisions Foodfinders and Trustin Unimerchants, following the sale of Home Farm Foods to management.
