Holsten is hoping to repeat the success it has had in Germany with a new style of beer called Duckstein following its UK launch.
The brewer claims it is a cross between an ale and a lager.
Holsten UK marketing director Andrew Edge said: "Duckstein is an authentic German lager/ale unlike any other beer or lager available. It is the first of its kind on the market and we believe it will meet consumer demand for a wider choice of brands for occasions when something special is required."
The beer has 4.9% abv and is sold in 500ml bottles which will retail between £1.69 and £1.79. These are packed in cases of eight. It is listed in Morrisons as a guest ale.
