Belgian brewing group Duvel Moorgat, has sold its fruit juice business Freya’s Deli Fruit, to Konings, according to media reports.
Konings already has a strong presence in the Belgian drinks market with products including fruit juice, lemonade, nectars, energy drinks, tea drinks, sports drinks, distilled and fermented drinks, ciders, parries, coolers, liquors and wines.
The Freya brand is sold throughout Belgium and has a strong hold on the returnable bottle sector.
Freya accounted for just 2.44% of Duvel’s total group sales, which totalled E69.5m in 2003, compared to 72.8% for the eponymous beer brand.
