Wonky bread subscription service Earth & Wheat has added a new value box aimed at shoppers struggling with the cost of living crisis.
The new Essentials box costs £5.99 and includes a selection of crumpets, tortilla wraps, pitta breads and folded flatbreads with free “ultra-fresh” next-day delivery included.
It was created for UK shoppers who were on a budget but still wanted to do their bit for the planet, said Earth & Wheat.
Subscribers can choose between a weekly, fortnightly, three-weekly, or monthly delivery.
The subscription service has teamed up with Made in Chelsea star Tiffany McGeehan (née Watson) to offer shoppers a discount code. It has also launched a new referral scheme, helping customers save “even more money”, it said.
New customers can claim their first box for half price (£2.99) by entering the code ‘TIFF50’ at the checkout. Subscribers who refer a friend to the service can claim a £2 discount.
Earth & Wheat founder James Eid said he wanted to try and support customers by introducing a more affordable box to the range, despite soaring production costs.
“We wanted to try and support our ‘wonky warriors’, which is why we decided to introduce our Essentials box,” said Eid.
The box included “lots of favourites from our original wonky box” and was “still packed full of bread items” to cater to families, he added.
Earth & Wheat – which was initially launched as a wonky bread subscription service by Eid in March 2021 – has since expanded its oeuvre to deliver imperfect biscuits last November and added wonky vegetable boxes to its subscription services in May 2022.
