One-pot meal business Easy Bean is expanding into crackers with premium chickpea crispbreads.
The supplier claimed its new lines, which are gluten-free and high in protein, were the first crackers on the UK market to be made out of chickpea or gram flour, an ingredient widely used in Indian cuisine. They will be available in Moroccan spice seeds & black pepper and mung bean & chive (rsp: £2.95 for a pack of five crispbreads) from next week.
Easy Bean, which launched its Fairtrade meal pots in 2007, had invested in a micro-bakery at its Somerset HQ and planned to add further lines to the crispbreads, said MD Christina Baskerville.
