Online food delivery firm EatFirst is aiming to ‘revolutionise the ready-meal industry’ with a new range of Asian fusion dishes in Ocado.
Eatfirst’s Taste of Asia range is designed for ‘busy foodies’ and includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, the firm said.
The range is due to be launched on 7 May with prices ranging from £2.49 for chilli chocolate truffles to £12.49 for Asian barbecue ribs for two.
Other dishes include vegetable udon noodles, honey soy chicken, miso glazed salmon and teriyaki tofu.
“By creating the ‘next generation ready-meal’ we’re trying to change the current world view that ready meals are unhealthy and mass produced,” said EatFirst founder, Rahul Parekh.
“The aim of this range was to prove that it can be done differently without compromising on convenience. Our team of award-winning chefs handcraft our meals using high-end restaurant techniques to provide a superior home-dining experience.
“It was all about revolutionising the ready-meal sector, proving you can get great food in a convenient way. We want to show the UK consumer that to get a gourmet meal you don’t necessarily need to splash out at restaurants. The EatFirst and Ocado partnership means you can enjoy incredible, healthy food at home without having to pay through the nose, or even leave the sofa.”
