Elbrook Cash & Carry is reaping the rewards of investing in a film studio.
Elbrook acquired a film studio site in Hayes, West London, in 2005 and planned to convert it into a banqueting hall. When planning was refused, the site was put on the market. But after the government introduced tax relief on films made in the UK, Elbrook invested more than £2m in the site, now called West London Film Studios. It is used to shoot BBC1 drama New Tricks, and The Imitation Game was also filmed there.
“We are really excited about this venture and our plan is to expand in this business, and possibly open another studio in the future,” said Elbrook C&C buyer Bikal Shrestha.
