Swiss dairy supplier Emmi has moved into the UK mousse market for the first time with a low calorie, “indulgent” range called Ooola Secrets.
Two flavours - chocolate & raspberry with chocolate chips, and triple chocolate with liquid caramel core (rsp: £2.39/3x60g) - are set to go on sale this month in Tesco and Costcutter stores nationwide.
At 90 calories per pot, Emmi is aiming to position the brand as a premium product targeting the 25-44 age group. The brand was launched in Switzerland and Austria last month.
“Our insights show that busy consumers want an everyday dessert or treat,” said Julie Plant, MD at Emmi UK. “Ooola Secrets is designed to hit that spot - portion-controlled indulgence without any compromise.”
The packaging features windows for consumers to view the product as it sits on the shelf, added Plant, while further flavours were also in development to add to the Ooola range in coming months.
The launch is set to be supported by mass media advertising, social media engagement and sampling.
