Hygiene and health giant Essity has appointed Nicola Conway as its commercial director for the UK & Ireland.
Conway has over two decades of commercial experience working for major food retailers and manufacturers, including Iceland, Greencore, and Uniq Prepared Foods.
She joined Essity’s consumer goods team in Didsbury, Greater Manchester last month from her previous role as northern grocery director for frozen foods giant Nomad Foods.
The office is in close proximity to the business’ Trafford Park paper mill, which is responsible for creating Plenty kitchen roll, Cushelle toilet roll, and own-brand labels for major UK customers..
Drawing on her knowledge of the retail commercial landscape, Conway will be responsible for sales across all consumer goods brands sold in the UK and Ireland for Essity. She will also join Essity’s country management team.
“I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned in the world of fmcg to my new role, leading some of Essity’s major household hygiene and health brands,” said Conway.
Lee Doherty, Essity VP of sales and marketing for consumer goods, said Conway was “a great hire who will bring a fresh perspective and renewed enthusiasm for driving sales for Essity’s much-loved brands”.
“We also welcome Nicola’s keenness to support our people in living and breathing our culture of care, collaboration, courage and commitment, as well as developing the team professionally.”
