Estrella Damm has been given a rebrand designed to play up the brew’s heritage.
The beer has been given a refresh, rolling out this month, which “pays homage to the Estrella Damm designs from the past” and features a new logo.
The move came as part of “an investment to consolidate Estrella Damm’s position as one of the stand-out performers in the UK beer market”, said Estrella.
Indeed, by the time of The Grocer’s Top Products 2018 report in December, the brand had grown its value sales by a whopping 86.5% to £50m - a £23m increase [Nielsen 52 w/e 8 September 2018].
It had been a “tremendous year” for the brand, said Estrella UK country manager James Healey, thanks to “beer drinkers seeking out our offering of a high quality, authentic Mediterranean beer brewed to the original recipe using only natural, local ingredients.
“We were keen to highlight these elements of the brand more clearly through the label and logo and we are confident that the refreshed, vintage design will ensure that Estrella Damm stands out and continues its strong growth in the UK.”
The rebrand will be backed by a marketing campaign throughout 2019 centred on “Barcelona’s lifestyle, culture and gastronomy”, including sponsorships of food industry awards such as Top 50 Gastropubs and The National Restaurant Awards.
