Waterless personal care company Ethosa has raised £230k via crowdfunding to drive growth.
Surpassing its target of £150k, the company raised more than £230k on Seedrs from more than 200 investors.
The funds will be used to grow the brand, with a primary focus on strategic marketing investments.
The company said the infusion of capital will enable the company to expand its reach, strengthen its brand presence, and accelerate its mission of protecting skin and the planet.
Responding to the “inefficiency” of traditional personal care products containing between 65% and 95% water, Ethosa offers products in powder form.
The company says these formulations eco-conscious, but they are also “meticulously tailored to address individual skin needs, recognising that one size does not fit all in personal care”.
It also plans to develop a powder-form shampoo range that shares the same brand values as its body wash range.
“We are thrilled to have exceeded our crowdfunding target on Seedrs,” said Gaëlle Chatelard, founder at Ethosa.
“The overwhelming support from our investors underscores their belief in our vision and validates the value proposition we offer. With this successful campaign, we are well-positioned to take Ethosa to new heights and make a significant impact in the personal care space. Vive La Refillution!”
Most of the company’s current revenues are from ecommerce store where products sold on a one-off basis and via automated subscriptions online.
It also sells to B&Bs, and small boutique hotels throughout Europe, as well as corporate clients for gifting.
