The biggest internet wine operation yet, featuring almost all the wines available in the UK, is set to go online in September.
Everywine.co.uk is the brainchild of Chris Dee, IT and marketing director of northern supermarket chain Booths.
He hopes to have pulled together support from 350 suppliers within six months and plans to feature their entire ranges on the net.
The Everywine operation will hold no stock of its own. Instead, the wines will be delivered free to customers from suppliers' stocks.
Marketing support including press advertising will begin in September.
Dee said: "Within our first week, Everywine.co.uk has commitments from Australian Wineries, Bibendum, BRL Hardy, D&D, Enotria, IWS, Liberty, Moreno, Orbital, PLB, Southcorp, Stevens Garnier, Thierry's and Western Wines.
"This transforms the way wine can be distributed to customers in the UK using the internet. And for Booths it is a long-term strategy which gives us a national presence and a way of selling our wines in the south of England."
