Chicken processor Faccenda Group is closing one of its four factories because of the soaring cost of animal feed.
Its factory in Sutton Benger near Chippenham, Wiltshire, will close following a review, with the loss of 450 jobs, according to the Daily Telegraph.
“We're operating in a very competitive market,” MD Ian Faccenda told the paper. “We know this will come as a shock to staff.”
The company, which is the UK's second-biggest chicken processor, also has factories in Telford, Dudley and Brackley.
