Food redistribution charity FareShare has appointed Simon Millard as its new director of food.
Millard is to replace Jo Dyson, who joined the organisation as head of food in April 2018.
Some of Millard’s most recent roles include UK commercial director at IRI, as well as a channel director at Premier Foods.
He had also previously worked in different commercial roles at Mars for nearly 10 years.
“I’m incredibly proud to join FareShare to lead the team that partners with the UK food industry, helping businesses use their surplus food to achieve charitable outcomes,” he said.
“Having worked in the UK food industry for 20 years, I’m inspired by FareShare’s mission and look forward to helping FareShare provide even more impact environmentally and socially.”
The charity’s CEO, Lindsay Boswell, said he was “delighted” to have Millard join them as his wealth of experience in the industry could help FareShare “reach our ambitious targets to redistribute even more surplus food to charities over the coming years”.
Millard has a degree in business management from the University of Nottingham.
