John Feege has been named as the latest addition to Somerfield’s 11-strong fresh produce buying team.
Feege is filling a post which has been vacant for two years, and will work as a category buyer for brassicas and legumes, reporting to Dominic Edwards, Somerfield’s head of
category buying. Feege joins the company from the Soil Association where he worked for two years as an account manager on business development and training. He has also worked for Sainsbury’s as a technical manager.
Somerfield said that Feege’s experience would drive its fresh produce strategy and offer .
He will be working on various buying initiatives in his new role, which includes continued support for British produce, as well as working closely with Somerfield’s technical solutions team on range and varietal development. Maintaining relationships with key suppliers will also be a key focus.
