Old Fettercairn, one of Scotland's longest established single malt whiskies, is getting a 21st century makeover.
The image overhaul touches on every aspect of the product including its name, packaging and the bottling age of the whisky itself. The new look, which sees the whisky change its name to Fettercairn 1824, is aimed at boosting the profile of the drink.
Willie Tait, manager at the north-east of Scotland-based distillery, said the most significant element of the makeover was the increase in bottling age. It becomes a 12-year-old whisky instead of 10, being left in oak for an extra two years. "With the new spirit and packaging we are confident Fettercairn 1824 will have an even greater appeal to malt drinkers."
