Fever-Tree has expanded its range of posh mixers with a quartet of flavoured Soda, in a bid to lure health-conscious consumers.
The new drinks had been designed as a “low-calorie spritz” said the brand. They come in Raspberry & Rose, Mexican Lime, Italian Blood Orange and White Grape & Apricot (rsp: £1.80/500ml). Each provides 20kcals per 100ml.
The premium sodas were made with “the very best” ingredients from “across the world”, including hand-picked rose petals from Bulgaria, Mexican limes and fruits from various regions across Italy.
The Soda range will launch to the on-trade this month before rolling out to retail in April – aimed at Brits who were “more conscious than ever about when and what they drink” according to Fever-Tree national on-trade sales manager Craig Harper.
It follows Fever-Tree’s sales dipping 2.8% to £115.5m last year, on volumes down 3.2% [Nielsen 52 w/e 31 December 2019].
In January, the London brand saw its share price fall to its lowest point since 2017. It blamed “the wider retail environment in the UK, with the mixer category not immune from the weak consumer confidence and corresponding slowdown in spending”.
