Fever-Tree Blood Orange Gin Spritz

The 5% abv premix would tap into rising demand for spritz style serves, said Fever-Tree

Fever-Tree has partnered with Margot Robbie’s Papa Salt Coastal Gin to launch an RTD made with its Italian Blood Orange Soda.

Fever-Tree x Papa Salt Blood Orange Gin Spritz (rsp: £2.90/250ml) will roll into Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores from April.

The 5% abv premix would tap rising demand for spritz-style serves, said Fever-Tree. The supplier has already dabbled in the segment, teaming up with French producer Maison Mirabeau to create a rosé-wine based spritz last May.

Fever-Tree’s latest innovation contained just 107 calories and was “a delicious, easy to drink cocktail with bright citrus notes and a herbaceous finish”, the London-listed business said.

“While the classic G&T of course holds a special place in my heart, working with the team at Papa Salt has opened my eyes and taste buds to how perfectly our premium sodas pair with gins,” said Fever-Tree co-founder and CEO Tim Warrillow. “I have no doubt gin aficionados and spritz lovers alike will share my enthusiasm for this perfect summer drink.”

The launch will be supported by a summer marketing push comprising PR, social media, influencer collaborations, festival activations and sampling.

Papa Salt, which made its debut in the UK last year and is stocked in Tesco supermarkets nationwide, is the brainchild of actor Robbie along with friends Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley, Charlie Maas and Regan Riskas.

Its Coastal Gin is distilled in Byron Bay, Australia in a zero-waste facility powered by renewable energy.

“For us, nothing beats Papa Salt with soda and a generous wedge of blood orange; it’s a simple, delicious combination that never disappoints,” said Robbie. “Fever-Tree has always been our go-to mixer so we are thrilled to be partnering with them on this refreshing Blood Orange Gin Spritz.”

In January, Fever-Tree announced a strategic partnership with Molson Coors. The £71m deal gave Molson Coors production and distribution rights for Fever-Tree’s mixers and soft drinks in the US, as well as an 8.5% stake in the business.
