Findus Group has filled another gap in its senior management team with the appointment of William Showalter as CFO.
Showalter (known as Bill) spent seven and a half years at Starwood Hotels and Resorts as senior vice president finance, Europe, Africa and Middle East – Starwood’s biggest international division with 250 hotels.
Showalter was the outstanding candidate in Findus’s wide-ranging search for a successor to previous CFO Steve Leadbeater, said James Hill, chief executive of Findus Group. “We welcome him to the company and look forward to him joining the high-quality management team already in place.”
Hill recently joined the company as CEO following the departure of predecessor, Chris Britton, who left at the end of last year.
Showalter has been involved in the food business for the majority of his career and multi-brand European food businesses were where the bulk of his experience lay, Showalter said. “I look forward to working with the entire Findus team in helping Findus reach its potential and creating value for all its stakeholders.”
Prior to joining Starwood, Showalter held a number of roles during an 18-year career at HJ Heinz, four of which were spent as European chief financial officer for Heinz’s European operations. In the late 90s, he was deputy MD/financial director of Heinz European Seafood when he led the acquisition of John West Foods.
Showalter is a US citizen and Certified Public Accountant.
