Finsbury Food Group has acquired low fat cake manufacturer Anthony Alan Foods for £3.75m.
Anthony Alan Foods has the rights to distribute ambient cakes using the Weight Watchers brand in the UK and Ireland. It generated sales of £11.6m in the year to March 2007.
Finsbury Food Group will pay up to an additional £2.90m in November 2009 if the Weight Watchers licence is renewed for a further three years.
“Finsbury Food Group currently produces nearly 60% of the Anthony Alan Foods product range and through this acquisition we will be able to drive the growth of the business further,” said Finsbury Food Group CEO Dave Brooks.
