Finsbury Food Group has undergone a refurbishment at its Hamilton celebration cake factory in Scotland to make it 100% nut-free.
From this month, cakes produced at the site will be completely nut-free, in terms of both product ingredients and preparation space.
Finsbury said the investment into the “large-scale” refurbishment was a response to the growing number of consumers looking for nut-free guarantees.
It had introduced new processes, systems and training, which would “bring consumers and our retail customers reassurance”, said the Hamilton site’s head of technical Catherine Swinburne.
