Fiona McInnes has been named the first female chief executive in 135 years at Clydebank Co-operative Society.
McInnes moves up from deputy CEO, a role she has held since 2011. She was made acting CEO following the departure of Robert Sider last year.
The society has recently reopened its store in Clydebank as part of a move to return to its core values of “providing the communities in which we operate with the goods and services they want at affordable prices, and excellent customer service”, she said.
“It is important that we respond to consumer trends and continue to rejuvenate the business but it is equally important to hold on to our co-operative principles.”
