Dairy products made in Jersey are becoming available on the UK mainland for what is said to be the first time.
Jersey Dairy has gained a listing for its yoghurt in Harrods, which is stocking Jersey’s Finest, a blend of natural yoghurt and whipped cream. Harvey Nichols has since requested supplies, and Jersey Dairy plans to contact Booths and Selfridges.
Jersey Dairy also makes flavoured yoghurt, ice cream, cream, crème fraîche and butter from the annual 16 million litres of milk produced by the 33 farmers who own the island’s only dairy company.
Export sales manager Andy Jennings said: “These are the first thoroughbred Jersey dairy products available in the UK.”
