Heinz says its Farley's Simplifeed, Ready Measured and Ready to Feed baby food systems will "bring unprecedented convenience and accuracy to bottle feeding". Lydie Lawrence, mum to William, 3, and Alexia, 4 months, tried the Simplifeed multiple bottle system. Harvey Bordley, 5 months, tried the Ready Measured sachets. Mum Yvette helped. Lydie: As a busy working mother of two, I welcome anything that makes life easier, so I was anticipating Simplifeed eagerly. The instructions and advice seemed easy to follow at first, but it soon became clear that this new method was not going to simplify anything. To start with, the system is not actually accurate because each sachet makes up "approximately" 20fl oz. Then, because I need 24fl oz per day for four bottles, I have to use a second sachet, and this leaves me with 16 fl oz extra. I can never get it quite right. Also, the instructions recommend waiting for the boiled water to cool before putting it into the container. Doing this twice means the whole exercise takes over an hour. AND the mixing container has to be sterilised. My steriliser only fits four bottles at a time, so the steriliser has to be done separately. The cartons are convenient  but they should be resealable. They're very messy if the whole lot isn't used at once. The worst thing? Farley's has discontinued its other tins of formula milk, so I have no choice. Please, Farley's, bring back the old system! Yvette: I use one or two bottles of formula a day and breast feed the rest of the time. Two four ounce sachets make one feed, so that worked well. The old scoop and level method annoyed me. It was a repetitive pain and I used to lose count. I found the sachets a lot easier  just tear off the top, put it in the bottle, and fill it up. The Heinz branding was reassuring and the portability was excellent. I'm packing for a holiday at the moment and the sachets pack flat  much more convenient than a tin. The sachets definitely make the life of a single mum easier and Harvey's nappies show no change. I would definitely buy them. I have one reservation though. The cartons were brilliant in the house but not practical outside because they weren't resealable. {{P&P }}
