Fisherman’s Friend has launched a new mint flavoured lozenge to broaden the appeal of its line-up ahead of winter.
The new variant, launching in Superdrug this month (rsp: 69p/25g), features the same menthol strength as the classic Fisherman’s Friend lozenge, but with an added minty flavour.
It follows the “brilliant response” to the launch of two fruit-flavoured variants in 2014, with volume sales of Fisherman’s Friend Honey & Lemon currently up 67.1% year on year (Ceuta: YTD October 2016).
“Research has shown us that flavour is a key driver for consumers in the medicated confectionery category,” said Martin Stimson, area business manager for Fisherman’s Friend in the UK.
Such a popular flavour as mint should further strengthen the brand’s appeal “to both new and existing customers throughout the year,” he added.
