Regenerist SPF 30 Flawless Skin Cream (Olay)
Launched: January 2011
Up to 80% of premature ageing is caused by the sun, claims Olay. Hence the brand's latest product, Regenerist SPF 30 Flawless Skin Cream. Incorporating a high SPF into a cosmetic can make it thick and slow to absorb, but according to Olay, this new anti-ageing moisturiser has been specifically formulated to deliver broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection in an easily-absorbed, non-greasy cream which maintains the brand's luxury feel.

Packed with penta-peptides, anti-oxides, extract of green tea and vitamins known to quench the free radicals responsible for tissue damage, the product claims to firm the skin and help reverse any existing sun damage. It also features Olay's highest ever sun protection. Packaged in a maroon and silver pump dispenser, it has an rsp of £29.99 for 50ml.

Resisto Coloured Milk (Garnier Ambre Solaire)
Launched: February 2011
Tinted blue with vegetable wax to reassure parents that their children are safe to play in the sun, yet invisible once properly rubbed in, this new product offers the most sensitive skins in the family a high level of UVA and UVB protection plus water resistance.

Designed to show up the bits Mum missed, the milk aims to offer long-lasting sun protection in higher temperatures. Sand resistant, it retails at £12.90 for 200ml.

Pure & Natural range (Nivea)
Launched: March 2011
Free from parabens, silicones, colourants and mineral oils, Nivea's 95% natural face, body and handcare range offers less processed products at accessible prices.

The lead ingredient is organic argan oil, which not only contains three times as much vitamin E as olive oil, but provides "effective and natural protection against free radicals whilst proven to create a skin smoothing effect," says the company. Prices range from £1.99 to £8.49.
