Retailing at 95p for a 100g pouch, Sharwood's new stir fry range launched to coincide with Chinese New Year includes Black Bean with Garlic and Ginger, Yellow Bean & Chilli with Garlic, Soy & Sesame with Ginger, and Szechuan Pepper & Tomato with Garlic flavours.

The chopped ingredients are said to give "flavour bursts" more akin to the taste of homemade cooking. Brand owner Premier says it has experienced a 27% incremental sales increase over previous Chinese New Years.

The Sauce Kitchen's frozen cooking sauces are made from natural ingredients and packed individually. Using only store cupboard ingredients, the six variants include George's Gorgeous Gravy, Ed's Cider Sage & Apple and Seb's Smoked Bacon & Red Wine. Available in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Ocado, they retail at £1.50 for two 200g packs.


Loyd Grossman (Premier Foods)
Launched: January 2011
Premier has added two sauces to its Loyd Grossman portfolio. The Classic Chilli and Fiery Chilli sauces (rsp £1.89 for 350g or £2.49 for 660g) were launched following research showing chilli usage growing by 6.7% a year [Kantar Usage, November 2010]. Both sauces contain lime and beer, while the Fiery Chilli option features hot Habanero Chilli. 


Seriously Good Indian cooking sauces

Seriously Good's new Indian cooking sauce range (rsp £1.89 for 350g) features four sauces based on authentic recipes inspired by Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape TV series. Available in Royal Korma, Aromatic Masala, Butter Chicken and Spicy Red Curry flavours, the new sauces are helping raise funds for Comic Relief 10p from every jar sold goes to the charity.
