Irish chocolatier Celtic Chocolates has launched Choices an alternative to milk chocolate that's dairy- wheat, gluten and egg-free. "You can use it anywhere that calls for milk chocolate. It combines well with everything and makes delicious confectionery," says Celtic Chocolates managing director Joe Callery.
Following a mini launch at Easter with an Easter egg, Choices products have gone on shelf in Sainsbury's and Waitrose and are available as bars (rsp: 60p-70p) and packs of individual caramel chocolates (rsp: £2.99-£3.49).

Tanfield Foods has expanded its range of ambient meals featuring recipes from around the globe. Three new products have been added vegetable curry, chicken curry and chilli con carne with rice and are now available in Asda stores (rsp: £3.35). They will be rolled out to other retailers in the next few months. The It's a Free World! range contains no gluten, wheat, nuts or dairy and is made with no artificial additives. "Our range is free from nasties because we neither want, nor need to use them," says Keith Gill, founder of Tanfield Foods.
Mrs Crimble's Fresh Seeded Loaf
Launched: November 2009 Mrs Crimble's first gluten-free fresh bread was launched into Sainsbury's last summer and went on to win gold in the bakery category of The Grocer Food and Drink awards in February. Mrs Crimble's seeded loaf (rsp: £2.09) is available in Waitrose and is made with natural gluten-free flours, ground flax and linseeds.
"Our fresh gluten-free bread was the only free-from food to be shortlisted in any category of The Grocer Food and Drink awards," says Mrs Crimble's managing director Jeremy Woods.
AWT gluten-free marinades

Celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson is launching five gluten-free marinades to spice up the free-from aisle. Going into Sainsbury's this month, the range comprises Sweet & Smoky Barbecue, Sweet Mint, Hot Mexican, Mediterranean Tomato & Herb and Spicy Tikka variants, in 200g packs (rsp: £1.59).
"I hope consumers will embrace my marinades to enhance their cooking," says the chef. The AWT Lifestyle Choices range, which includes gluten and yeast-free stock cubes, will be supported with promotions and advertising.
