Night Nurse Hot Lemon Menthol Drink (GSK)
Launched: October 2011
GSK's first ever pharmacy-strength hot drink product (rsp: £4.49 for a pack of five) combines the comfort of a medicated hot drink with the decongestant properties of menthol, says its owner. Some may question the wisdom of launching a product available only from pharmacists (thanks to its active ingredients), but GSK says the drink will benefit from the growing number of in-store pharmacies operated by supermarkets.
Kleenex Balsam Nose & Lip Balm (Kimberly-Clark)
Launched: October 2011
This soothing balm (rsp: £1.99), new to Kleenex's most popular range, contains natural calendula to help ease the chapped lips and sore noses of cold sufferers. With owner Kimberly-Clark investing its largest sum ever in marketing Kleenex this year, this new product is not to be sniffed at.
Strepsils sore throat and cough lozenges (Reckitt Benckiser)
Launched: September 2011
Owner Reckitt Benckiser claims this new dual-formulated product (rsp: £4.09 for a pack of 24) offers relief for sore throats and coughs. It contains two antiseptics and Levomenthol, a mild local anaesthetic that is present in most cough liquids, but has never before been in Strepsils.
Sani+Hands (Nice-Pak International)
Launched: September 2011
Launched in 2007 to cash in on concerns surrounding swine flu and Norovirus, Sani+Hands' packaging was revamped last month to boost shelf stand-out.
