Donald Garvin Harris, a former Tesco director, died on 22 January, aged 75. He joined Tesco in 1964, tasked with creating the retailer’s computer department. He was a board director between 1975 and 1985, holding roles across distribution, administration, training and corporate planning. Harris left Tesco in 1985 to set up a distance-learning MBA in retailing, with the University of Stirling. He also worked with York and Newcastle universities. He was awarded an OBE in 1990.
