The joint forum of independent retail trade associations from the UK and Ireland will meet at the end of February in Dublin. The Association of Convenience Stores, the Scottish Grocers' Federation, the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association and the Irish Republic association RGDATA will be represented.

Murco conversions
Murco marketing director Breff Kelly said the chain had now converted 49 of its franchise forecourt stores to Costcutter or Costcutter Express and was on track to complete the conversion of 110 stores in five years. Kelly said Murco wanted to extend its Costcutter estate to 150 stores.
Unilever Ventures has added BrainJuicer, an automated market research business, to its portfolio. It is the 7th venture to receive backing from UV since its formation last year.
