Smoothie manufacturer Innocent has made four appointments to expand the senior management team at its Fruit Towers headquarters.
Giles Brook, who has spent seven years with Coca-Cola Enterprises, most recently as impulse marketing controller, is UK sales controller.
Former venture capitalist Jamie Mitchell is Innocent’s new marketing director. He is also a teaching fellow in entrepreneurship at the London School of Business, has been CEO of a computer software company and graduated in the top 5% of his MBA class at Harvard. Co-founder Richard Reed, who is on the shortlist for The Grocer Cup for outstanding business leadership, has been heading the marketing team since Innocent was launched by three friends six years ago. He will now focus on brand development and sustainability.
Doug Bairner has joined Innocent as trade marketing controller from Procter & Gamble, where he was heading customer marketing for Pampers. Former head of Sainsbury’s retail HR Karina Riddiford is people and environment director.
Wal-Mart has named John Menzer and Mike Duke as vice chairmen. In their new roles, Menzer will take responsibility for Wal-Mart’s US operations, while Duke will head Wal-Mart International. The retailer has also appointed Eduardo Castro-Wright as the new CEO of its US store division.
Waitrose managing director Steven Esom has become a non-executive director of the Carphone Warehouse Group. Esom said Carphone Warehouse shared many of Waitrose’s values, paricularly its focus on customer service and investing in the long term.
Arla Foods UK has appointed the heads of its Scandanavian parent company, Arla Foods, to its board. Arla Foods chief executive Peder Tuborgh and his deputy, Andreas Lundby, have joined as non-executive directors. Alex Modig has resigned from the board with immediate effect.
