Fox’s Glacier is launching a new range of HFSS-compliant sugar-free sweets.
The sweets – which contain stevia in place of sugar – will debut in Lemon, Elderflower & Mint and Strawberry & Banana Smoothie flavours.
They will roll into The Co-op on 15 August, packaged in “handy” cartons (rsp: £1.20/40g).
Although Fox’s sweets already had “strong associations with travel”, the pocket-sized format would reach new consumers during “on-the-go snacking moments”, it said.
The omission of sugar also meant the sweets didn’t require individual wrapping, which would help the brand cut down on packaging.
Fox’s marketing director Russell Tanner said the innovation was “a natural next step” for the brand, which had “longstanding heritage as a household favourite”.
“We pride ourselves on using high-quality ingredients that suit a range of dietary needs, without compromising on taste,” he said, adding the new flavours were “no exception” to this.
It comes after the Valeo-owned brand relaunched with a new look last year in a bid to lure in “modern” shoppers.
Rival Mondelez last month unveiled its own range of non-HFSS sweets, called Juicies, which contain real fruit juice and 30% less sugar.
