Burton's Foods has poached Jon Gatfield from arch rival McVitie's to fill the newly created post of operations director.
Gatfield takes a seat on the biscuit company's main board and assumes responsibility for purchasing, manufacturing and logistics.
He joins Burton's after a 21-year career with McVitie's that saw him start as a graduate trainee and move up through various factory management roles to become strategy and projects director.
Gatfield said: "Customer service is at the top of my agenda I will be implementing an integrated supply chain strategy that will deliver real benefits to Burton's and our retail customers."
Philippe Roucoule has joined from Centura Foods as trade marketing controller. He replaces Martin Jenkins who has been promoted to general sales manager for convenience/ impulse.
Stuart Lane has joined from Britvic as general manager trading responsible for a number of multiple accounts, discounters, and the wholesale sectors.
And Gill Howard has joined Burton's as a trade marketing manager responsible for the Sainsbury and Somerfield accounts. Howard was previously with the Co-operative Group where she was category marketing manager for grocery edibles.
