Sainsbury has made a series of buying appointments to its frozen food buying team as it seeks to develop its portfolio of products in the category.
Tessa Jones has been made frozen food buying manager.
She has worked for Sainsbury for 12 years after joining as a graduate trainee. She has had six years of retail experience. After that, her experience has included buying roles in bakery and project work.
Jason Smith has become senior buyer for ready meals, pizza and prepared food. Before joining the multiple in 2002, he held buying roles at Total and Landmark Cash & Carry Group. Since moving to Sainsbury his experience has included work in the household products buying department.
Fleur Gavanghan has been named as buyer for ice cream and desserts. She joined Sainsbury in 1998 as a graduate trainee. She moved into work on the supply chain in 2000 where she was responsible for implementing and training teams on new systems.
Smith and Gavanghan report to Jones. All three have assumed their new posts following project work on performance improvement.
