Gü is hoping to almost double UK sales of its Frü Fruity Puds brand to £9m in the next year by adding two new products to the chilled fruit-based desserts range.
The new products consist of traditional British summer favourites strawberry & raspberry trifle and summer pudding, which is a compôte of six summer fruits, a light sponge and a fruity syrup.
The fruit-based trifle follows on from the launch of a chocolate trifle from sister brand Gü in May.
To give it an edge over other trifle products, the newcomer features fruit at the top as opposed to the bottom to give consumers ‘an instant fruit fix’.
“There is a big opportunity in the market for premium fruity puddings,” said Becs Sears, marketing manager. “The Frü brand is worth about £5m in the UK and it is predicted that the new products will add an extra £4m to the brand in the next 12 months.”
The new products, which are available now, take the Frü portfolio to eight products.
