Princes Soft Drinks is bidding to put the sparkle back into lemonade with a new twist on the old favourite.
Twistade, from Princes' new Sunsip brand, is a mixture of lemonade with fruit flavours. Billed as "no ordinary lemonade", Princes believes the newcomer will prove the catalyst in transforming the "large but neglected" lemonade market which has lost out to new, higher profile soft drinks such as Coca-Cola over the years.
"Lemonade holds just 21.7% of the carbonates market compared to cola which holds 41.5% and fruit carbonates at 31.4%," said Princes' marketing manager, Bernard Maher. "Lemonade clearly has the potential to be a significant volume generator."
