Stephen Fry is lending his erudite style of comedy to a new TV advert for Twinings speciality teas.
The £2.3m campaign, which breaks next week, centres on three of Twinings' most popular blends - Earl Grey, Lady Grey and Chai. It shows Fry in a Twinings tea shop while a man writes enticing descriptions about the teas, such as 'put the zing in your ding-a-ling' for Earl Grey, on a blackboard.
It is the first time the comedian has advertised the company's speciality teas and marks the range's return to the small screen after a four-year absence.
"The growth of the speciality tea sector is fuelled by consumer demand for greater choice and better quality," said sales director Jon Jenkins.
"This campaign demonstrates our commitment to growing the category."
Twinings is supporting the campaign with new trial packs of 10 teabags.
