The NPD combines avocado and rapeseed oil

Frylight has launched a pure oil spray designed for food prepared in an air fryer.

The NPD combines avocado and rapeseed oil, packaged in Frylight’s 30% recycled plastic spray bottle.

It has rolled into Asda stores (rsp: £2.75/200ml).

The spray responded to the growing popularity of air fryers, with more than 58% of British households now using the appliance, said Frylight [Good Food Nation 2024 survey].

“Helping people easily live healthier lives has always been at the heart of the Frylight brand, which is why we wanted to tap into this growing health and convenience-driven trend with the development of our new Air Fryer Pure Oil Spray,” said Frylight senior brand manager Al Flynn.

“The Air Fryer Pure Oil Spray complements Frylight’s existing range and offers busy households a convenient cooking solution for the air fryer,” Flynn added.

Frylight has partnered with Nathan Anthony, the founder of cookery platform Bored of Lunch, to develop a series of recipes using the spray.

It comes after McCain Foods has been concertedly expanding its range of air fryer-friendly products in recent months.

McCain debuted Air Fryer oven chips in May; these were followed by Air Bites, which launched under its Strong Roots brand in October.

It kicked off 2025 with McCain Vibes, a “game-changing” crisp-chip hybrid designed for air fryers, which launched into Iceland in January.
