The FSA has been nominated for a Civil Service Award for its work to tackle campylobacter.
The awards recognise best practice across government, with the FSA shortlisted for its “bold decision” to produce a survey measuring levels of the bug in supermarket chicken, and for publishing its results every quarter from November 2014.
Award organisers said the initiative helped raise awareness of campylobacter from 19% to 35% over the year.
