Fuller’s has added a new brew to its Past Masters portfolio of historic ales.
Past Masters Old Burton Extra, rolling out to Sainsbury’s now, is a 7.3% abv ale that has been recreated from a 1930s recipe taken from the Fuller family’s brew book. It is a blend of pale ale malt, crystal malt and maize combined with a special brewing syrup (rsp: £4.50/500ml bottle). It provided a “glimpse into our unique brewing history”, said head brewer John Keeling.
Fuller’s has also released its latest limited-edition Vintage Ale - an 8.5% abv amber tipple (rsp: £5.50/500ml), together with the fourth incarnation of its Brewer’s Reserve series of barrel-aged beers (rsp: £7.80/500ml).
