Walkers has promised a raft of new product launches for 2001 in the wake of its newest arrival, Funyuns.
These are onion flavoured rings which have been established in the US for some time and which Walkers has just brought to the UK.
This has initially been a "soft launch" and the company is not planning any major promotional support behind Funyuns (rsp 27p for a standard 25g bag). But it is gearing up for major snack launches with significant promotional spend from March.
Walkers trade marketing manager Jan Beacham said: "Funyuns is one of many pieces of news this year that will see Walkers continue to grow the category."
