Eager Drinks has kicked off a service that delivers ambient fruit juice direct to consumers.
Apples, Oranges, Pomegranates, Cranberries, Grapefruits, Tomatoes and Pineapples are each available in a multipack of six one-litre cartons for £15, including postage, as a monthly subscription or one-off order. There is also a ‘one of each’ mixed box comprising all variants apart from Tomatoes.
Eager Drinks was founded by Ed Rigg in 2007, to offer fruit juice that could be shipped at truck temperature and stored at room temperature, to reduce the electrical footprint associated with refrigerated beverages.
The brand, which styles itself as fuss-free, supplies shelf-stable juice to on-trade clients including Young’s Pubs, Alchemist Bar & Restaurants, Stonegate Group and Hotel du Vin, as well as independent outlets
“We want to change people’s perspectives and purchasing behaviours when they’re buying fruit juice,” Rigg said. “Juices require huge watts of supermarkets’ energy to refrigerate them and take up space in our fridges too, but they don’t need to. It’s really not that complicated.
“When the whole world needs to be reducing its energy consumption, we want to provide a great tasting, high-quality juice without refrigeration. The industry is ripe for a change, and we’re here to shake it up.”
