The FWD has launched a new initiative to support and develop people from all backgrounds in the wholesale sector.
The move is intended ensure all forms of diversity are accounted for.
‘Diversity in Wholesale’ will form a new umbrella organisation under which Women in Wholesale will sit.
Diversity in Wholesale will retain the 2023 events programme designed by Women in Wholesale founder Elit Rowland and the steering group, with topics including wellbeing, age inclusion, male allyship and disability inclusion.
Rowland will remain involved in the project as a consultant for the FWD until 2024.

Events specifically for women, including speed mentoring and the coaching academy, will retain the WiW branding.
Other initiatives, including breakfast briefings, a ‘wellness group’, and ‘menopause café’, will be rebranded under the DiW banner.
“For the wholesale sector to attract, retain and inspire the widest range of available talent it needs to provide an environment where people of any age, gender, ethnic group or social background are given opportunities and the right support they need to succeed,” said FWD CEO James Bielby.
“DiW aims to help wholesalers and suppliers overcome obstacles to inclusion and equity.”
FWD has sponsored WiW since 2017.
