Galaxy and Milky Way have been extended into the booming chocolate spreads market.

Sold in squeezy tubes, the Mars brand spreads (rsp: £1.99) are currently stocked in Sainsbury’s nationwide, and are expected to launch in other retailers in the future. “The spreads are already proving a big hit with consumers,” said a Mars spokesman.

Sales of chocolate spreads have grown 11.4% to £49.2m in the past year [IRI 52 w/e 9 November 2013].
