Private equity firm Verlinvest has made a “significant capital investment of millions of pounds” in free-from specialist Genius Foods.
Genius refused to state how much had been invested but said it would use the funds to boost innovation and international expansion. It currently supplies gluten-free products to the UK, Australia, Spain, Holland and the US.
“We have long admired Verlinvest and are delighted to be working closely with them,” said Genius CEO Roz Cuschieri.
Established in 1995, Brussels-based Verlinvest has invested in food and drink brands and the hospitality and digital industries in Europe, the US and Asia.
